It’s good that you asked, Justin.
I would want to answer you straightforward but unfortunately, the health insurance marketplace is so complex. There can be many factors which affects your health insurance premium in Indiana like insurance type such as insurance type, state where you are located, age of the policyholder, benefits with the health insurance plan, and health status of the policyholder.
It is very common for people to look into the average cost of health insurance who are looking for an individual health insurance policy. Average premiums vary by state. But for your own benefit of getting a ballpark figure for an average cost of health insurance premiums, statistics show that on an average, a person with job-based coverage spends an annual spending on health insurance premiums is $3,991. Families spend an average of $10,728 per year on family health insurance policies. This statistics however is based on documentation as of the year 2005 by the Association of Health Insurance Plans.. This is only for the account benefits associated with the health insurance policies. You might need to consider inflation rates in the past 3 years and these figures could have changed dramatically.
Federal law does not provide any ceiling price for health insurance policies but it does provide a regulation on the prices based on the prevailing market price and fair pricing based on the services. But, I am assuming health insurance companies would not be charging overpriced policies these days as due to tight competition among many health insurance companies. Even without regulation, the prices would be relatively stable, I think!
